Manila Kendo Club 2018 Summer Program

The Manila Kendo Club Philippines invites you to the 2018 Kendo Summer Program starting April 3 at the Ateneo de Manila University! This summer, learn this traditional Japanese martial art which originated from samurai swordsmanship during Japan’s feudal warring era. Today, it is a sport with numerous tournaments held around the world!

Popularized by anime and samurai movies, kendo, literally translated as “the way of the sword”, puts emphasis in training both the body and the mind. Deeply rooted in Japanese tradition, samurai philosophies and etiquette are a must if you want to advance in kendo rank. Developing your character will help you in your daily life as well.

Kendo is for everyone! It is a unique physical sport where it does not matter whether you are tall, short, big, small, a girl or a boy, young or old. Kendo focuses on proper execution of the techniques, timing of the hit, and your spirit to count as a point during a match!
